Spy ware is basically a bunch of crap on your computer that tracks what sties you goto and spams you with popups and collects a lot of tracking cookies and such. Google ‘avg’ and download their free edition of spyware removal, it should help. =) Good luck.
Spyware is annoying popups, you get it by installing some programs and visiting sites, it monitors where you have been and then certain popups show depending on where you go.
That popup your getting is probably fake unless its from your antivirus, but definetely scan.
spyware is sort of like a virus, but not as serious. Usually it watches what you look at on the internet and pops up ads that you might be interested in. Some are bad and can send your credit card info to the wrong people.
This means that a site that you or someone visited is keeping tabs on your every movement !! Now you need to run anti virus type programs to try and catch the spy before it takes over every thing !! Use typical programs like AVG - or Ad Aware (from Lavasoft) or norton anti virus to catch and then remove the spy. All above programs are free . You NEVER go on internet without having anti virus Backup
You must be running Linux. Don’t feel bad, you’re not missing anything by not having spyware on your computer like windows users have.
If you really want to experience what spyware is and what it does to a computer, do the following…
Install any version of Microsoft Windows on a computer.
Hook to the internet without a firewall.
Wait 15 minutes, then try to use your computer.
You’ll find out what spyware is and what it does to a computer.
Also do a google on ‘windows sucks’ and read the millions of bad experiences that people have had with spyware using windows.
Now, don’t you feel sorry for all those people that have actually paid money for windows and are trying to use it?
And, get this, to help all those people ‘try’ and control the spyware on their computers, there are numerous companies like Norton, and Macafee that will sell them programs to run on their computer that makes them even slower.
So, just be glad that you’re running Linux instead of windows and the next time someone asks you what spyware is, just tell them that you don’t know because you run Linux.
Those pop on your screen they are fake. It does to me and then I go to my antivirus and to do the scan and check everything out and nothing shows up. I wouldn’t believe it unelss it came from your antivirus that you using on your computer..
